It is not truly bulletproof; it is bullet-resistant, meaning it can absorb and disperse the energy of a projectile to prevent penetration for a certain number of shots, calibre, and velocity as defined by its protection rating. It typically consists of multiple layers of glass and polycarbonate bonded together under heat and pressure.
